Cyprus

We are in Cyprus 

It is an island smacked dab in the middle of the Middle East and Eastern Europe This is what it looks like 

The flag’s white background means peace and same with the olive tree branch. The island means metal and it’s history. 

It’s bordering countries are  Greece, Turkey, Lebanon ,Syria, Israel, & Egypt.  It’s capital is Nicosia. It’s population is 1.20 million

Did you know Cyprus is spilt up in 2 pieces? One is an independent country that speaks English and greek and a non independent country in turkey that just speaks Turkish.  We walked across the border. 

We went to see Petra tou Romiou or Aphrodite's rock. That is where the legend says the greek Goddess, Aphrodite (the goddess of love sprang to life. It says that she crawled out of the ocean. It was pretty nice there.

We also went to the beach a lot. The water were sometimes cold and sometimes coldish. We got to swim in the water, play in the sand and the thing I liked the most of all we got to have sushi for dinner.  I like spending time at the beach.

We spent Christmas and New Years in Cyprus.  We did all of our shopping there too. I liked being in Cyprus.
