Lots of OLD STUFF!

Hephaestus's Temple

We went to Hephaestus’s temple. It is the only one that is still in pretty good shape.   Hephaestus is the God of volcanos, fire and metal working. His temple is in the north east of Athens.  It was on a really big property that you could explore.  There were lots of ruins and statues.  The weirdest thing we saw was the temple of Ares. (The God of war) There was hardly a trace of the temple left behind . LOL :)!  I liked it a lot and I wish I had taken a picture of it. There was a small museum that had lots of things you could look at too.

Also, we saw the Panathenaic Stadium. It is where the first modern Olympics games, in 1896 took place. The  track is  204m long and 34m wide. It is the only stadium made entirely out of marble.   It has 50,000 seats. I ran the track and stood on the podium. It was pretty cool to run on the same track as so many Olympian athletes.

We also went to the optical illusion museum. There was a vortex that spins around you and makes you feel like you are spinning but you really aren’t. I loved it. There were brain puzzles which are challenges for your brain and for fun. I saw my shadow in different colours like blue, green , red ,yellow, orange and purple. There were so many brain challenges and illusions ,it was cool.

We went to the  Acropolis museum. It had some cool stuff they found on the hill and around the Acropolis. We saw statues and carvings from the 1st century.

That's it for old stuff this time!
